Course Materials Return Policy
Spring 2025 Course Materials are available in-store and online starting Wednesday December 18, 2024.
We understand that you may need to add or drop a course. Therefore, the extended refund period begins from this date, until the last day for refunds. The last day to return physical textbooks is Friday January 17, 2025. Purchases made after this date are Final Sale/No Refunds.
If you are returning physical textbooks:
You must have your original receipt
Textbooks must be in mint condition (No writing, highlighting, scratched covers, or bent corners)
Textbooks that are shrink-wrapped must remain shrink-wrapped, and the plastic wrap unbroken/unopened
If you made an online order for physical textbooks and would like to request a refund, please follow the steps below:
1. Email your return request to eshop@sfu.ca
2. Indicate "Return Request: Order #" in the subject line
3. An associate will verify that your textbook(s) are eligible to be returned.
4. Once they have been deemed eligible, a return shipping label will be sent to your email address
5. Please follow the instructions listed on the return label and send it via your nearest post office
6. Once your package has been received, we will process your refund
Note: Damaged items will not be accepted and are returned to the customer (additional shipping charges may apply).
The following items are final sale and are not eligible for a refund.
All digital course materials (eBooks) provided by the Bookstore are FINAL SALE
All course packs (both digital and physical) are FINAL SALE due to copyright laws
iClickers (both digital and physical) are FINAL SALE.
Prepay items are FINAL SALE (non-cancellable and non-returnable)
The SFU Bookstore will accept returns as long as Canada Post or your preferred courier receives the package by the course materials return deadline.

General Retail Products and General Merchandise Return Policy (Non-textbook)
We are currently offering FREE RETURNS within Canada if you are not satisfied with your purchase,
For online orders,
Simply email us with your order number and the reason for your return, and we will email you a return label.

3. You will receive a return shipping label
4. Make sure to include the original packing slip inside your return package
5. Follow the instructions listed on the return label and send it via your nearest post office
6. Once your package has been received, we will process your refund
(We will accept returned merchandise as long as Canada Post or your preferred courier receives the package within 10 business days from when the package was delivered.)
For in-store purchases,
1. Please note that Personalized Grad Bears, calculators, lab supplies (lab coats, goggles), technology items (incl. MFA Hardware Token), all Gift Cards in-store and online, and clearance items are all final sale.
2. For regular non-clearance merchandise, we will accept return within two weeks of purchase with a valid receipt
3. Clothing must be unwashed/unworn and with the manufacturer labels intact and tags on
